Can I make partial withdrawals from my Market Trust?

Modified on Mon, 9 Oct, 2023 at 2:51 PM

Yes, a partial withdrawal is possible, subject to withdrawal or surrender charges and any other costs applied to withdrawal from the guaranteed interest rate product. Funds invested into your selected investment portfolio can be withdrawn at any time. For an in-depth explanation of the costs associated with early withdrawals of investments, please refer to the Save Form ADV. However, the portion invested in the guaranteed interest rate product has penalties associated with redeeming prior to the completion of the 5-year term. If you choose to make partial withdrawals from the guaranteed interest rate product allocation in any year before the end of the 5-year term, the issuer will apply withdrawal or surrender charges to the amount withdrawn and may also apply a market value adjustment which may increase or decrease the amount withdrawn. If you are under age 59 ½, the withdrawal will also be subject to a 10% federal excise tax on the portion of the withdrawal representing interest.

Important note: Any amounts withdrawn from the guaranteed interest rate product will reduce the interest you will earn over the 5-year term and, therefore, your initial deposit may not be fully protected following any withdrawals.
