Can I withdraw money from the guaranteed interest rate product portion of the Save Market Trust program?

The Save Market Trust program combines an investment portfolio with a guaranteed interest rate product for a specified term. Amounts allocated to the investment portfolio can be withdrawn at any time. Amounts allocated to the guaranteed interest rate product can also be withdrawn; however, during the term of your Market Trust, the portion of your program invested in the guaranteed interest rate product is subject to withdrawal or surrender charges and a market value adjustment, which may increase or decrease the amount withdrawn. If you are under age 59 ½, the withdrawal will also be subject to a 10% federal excise tax on the portion of the withdrawal representing interest.

Important note: Any amounts withdrawn from the guaranteed interest rate product will reduce the interest you will earn over the 5-year term and, therefore, your initial deposit may not be fully protected following any withdrawals.

For early withdrawals, a fee breakdown is described in the product summary document.
