The three crediting bureaus allow for a credit freeze to be placed on your credit report. Also known as a security freeze, this free tool lets you restrict access to your credit report, which in turn makes it more difficult for identity thieves to open new accounts in your name. That’s because most creditors need to see your credit report before they approve a new account. If they can’t see your report, they may not extend the credit or open the account.
If you have a credit or identity freeze on your credit report, this will delay your account opening at Save. As a security measure, we will not open any new accounts in your name without additional verification that you are in fact opening an account with us. You can expect an email from Save with a request for confirmation.
